And along with these challenges, digital transformation adds a whole new layer of complexity that teams must adapt to. Consequences of digital transformation In the webinar, Maria said that she sees the notion of “transformation” a lot in the digital agency world. She said it has quickly become a loaded word that holds different meanings for different people. She explained how transformation is often thought of as an exercise in retooling their tech or restructuring departments rather than thinking of ways to change the environment that can create new value for customers. She continued: “Growth projects or initiatives are framed as a clear transition from one state to another, in other words old and new, when it should be an iterative process with milestones.” Ultimately, this old and new mindset can distract teams from creating value and they can lose focus when it comes to aligning their organization, which can create silos that slow the growth process. But, the good news is that balancing the challenges that come with running a digital agency and keeping up with digital transformation isn’t impossible. Tools for growth hacking your digital agency Your team and your time are your digital agency’s most valuable and important assets. So empowering and engaging your team, and making the best use of their time is vital. As Maria sees it, the most time-consuming tasks for digital agencies include client reporting, internal client onboarding, and project management.
